Autism Families

Courses and advice for parents, carers and organisations.

Home: Welcome

Welcome to Autism Families

Our focus is on providing courses and support for parents and carers who have autistic family members (or believe they may have).  Our goal is to empower families to understand more about autism, and how to support their loved ones in a positive way.  The courses are run in small groups so families have lots of opportunity to share and ask questions.  There is the option of having private sessions for those who prefer.

We also provide training and consultancy for organisations.

Our courses are delivered by Amy Phipps, a parent of an autistic child, who is also a social worker with over 20 years experience in the field of autism.  Families and carers who attend our courses can rest assured that their experiences are understood, respected and valued, while also benefitting from years of professional knowledge and experience.

We are based in Bristol, but are currently delivering our courses online due to COVID-19, so are accessible to all.  Eventually we hope to be able to bring families together in person, to enable them to meet like-minded people and ultimately grow a support network if they wish.

Testimonial

We have recently been granted EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) for our boy, aged 11. We would not be where we are without Amy’s advice and support. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and understands the process and frustrations of being an ASC mum.

Just wanted to say thank you Amy for all your help and advice guiding us to the point of getting the right support in place for our son. I wish there were more people like you to help navigate the minefield from diagnosis onwards. We wouldn’t be where we are today without your help.

Nicky, Bristol
